    The Banquet Chef is responsible for monitoring the daily functions of the Banquet culinary department, including providing support and guidance to the culinary team and creating, implementing, and maintaining high quality standards. Previous Culinary Management experience is required.

    Qualifications:

    Responsibilities include:

    • Develop and implement creative menu items that elevate guest experiences and adhere to Hyatt & Carolina Inn brand standards.

    • Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities

    • Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items

    • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results

    • Manage colleagues through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating, and hiring.

    • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, quality, and consistency daily

    • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule that will likely include evenings, weekends, and holidays

    • Able to remain calm and perform well at high volume business levels

    • Outstanding communication skills within and outside of division

    • Able to attend and conduct business meetings

    Qualifications:

    • In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations

    • Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills

    • Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service

    • Proficient in general computer knowledge

    • A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced, high volume customer service environment

    • Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner

    • Strong training and communication skills

    • Culinary education and/or on the job training, hotel experience preferred

    Working Conditions:

    • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to work at outdoor locations on occasion, walking on uneven surfaces;

    • Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day

    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently. & occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs.

    • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, reaching, and repetitive hand & arm movements constantly; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally

    • Must be able to twist and bend frequently and squat occasionally

    Hyatt develops Chefs to progress into the role of Executive Sous Chef through the training of Banquets, Restaurants and Garde Manager. Banquet Chefs report directly to the Executive Chef.
