    Set inside a historic 1910 building between Seattle's lively Belltown and West Edge neighborhoods, Shaker + Spear's design reflects its vibrant setting. Located adjacent to the Kimpton Palladian hotel, the 65-seat restaurant's edgy yet welcoming atmosphere features cast glass and weathered wood designed by renowned Seattle architects Graham Baba.

    Shaker + Spear is looking for a dedicated, hardworking individual to take on a unique dual-role as a Banquet Captain + Restaurant Supervisor. When this person is not overseeing all Banquet Operations for our small meeting space, The Hive, they would supervise our server team in our main restaurant.     Your day-to-day:

    • Provide exceptional guest service
    • Complete guest checks with accuracy
    • Schedule employees for banquet functions
    • Work effectively with the restaurant and catering management teams to ensure accuracy with catering events and restaurant operations are running smoothly
    • Manage inventory of all banquet related supplies
    • Effectively communicate any banquet needs or changes as needed in a timely matter
    • Supervisor restaurant team to ensure guest standards are being met
    • Holding employees accountable for performance

    Required Qualities:

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines under pressure
    • Ability and willingness to follow established processes and procedures
    • Ability to focus on detail accurately

    • Ability to lead a team
    • Possess a strong level of self-discipline

    Specific experience we're seeking:

    • The ideal candidate must have 2-4 year's experience as a banquet captain or seasoned server
    • Only candidates with banquet experience will be considered. Hotel banquet experience is a plus

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prior experience required. Depending on the role degree may be required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
