Position Summary:

Icy Strait Point Culinary Assistant must be comfortable communicating and conversing with staff and guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable

• Setting up and sanitizing workstations.

• Following prep lists created by

  Lead Culinary Host

• Measuring ingredients and

  seasonings and

  preparing cooking ingredients

  for each tour start time.

• Ensuring all food items are

  properly stored

  and easily accessible.

• Assist

  with the set up and cleaning for each

  tour.

• Assist

  with keeping

  track of ingredient

  s

  inventory

• Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen

  , including

  taking

  out trash.

• Participate in all required training

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen

• Manual dexterity

  able

  to

  operate

  cutting tools and kitchen

  utensils.

• A team player with

  good communication

  skills

• Patient with an ability to stay positive under

  pressure.

• Precious experience in a commercial kitchen desired.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

• Have or be able to attain

  ServSafe

  Manager Certification and TAP’s Card.

• Have or be able to

  attain

  First Aid/CPR certification.

• Able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and walk 5+ miles daily.

• Willing

  to live in a remote, rural community for a minimum of

  6

  months per year.
