Hiring Trends for the New Year

The economy has recovered, employment numbers look sharp and the stock market nears record highs on a regular basis. The revitalized economy has recruiters looking for employees to fill vital positions. Potential employees should be ready for a good start to 2015 by noting some hiring trends for the new year.

Resume Edge believes tendencies to watch for hiring in 2015 include social media, mobile technology and networking. Hiring trends continue to shift towards online searches, keywords and social media presence. Updating old data is one key for someone who wants a job in 2015. However, technology is not everything.

The number one aspect of hiring for 2015, which holds over from 2014, will be referrals that lead to new hires. Fellow employees refer candidates for open positions, and most of the time these referees are well qualified for the job. The reason is the person who referred someone feels the person is right for the position. Plus, the employee feels like the referral is a reflection on his own character at the company. In 2014, more than 63 percent of new hires were due to referrals. That trend should continue for at least another year, especially since the job market has rebounded.

LinkedIn continues to be the social network of choice for hiring in 2015. Many human resources executives and managers state that a candidate without a social media presence probably will not be hired versus someone who does own a LinkedIn account. LinkedIn is specially designed for job seekers and professionals, and these types of hiring trends will be even more popular in 2015. LinkedIn serves as a quick screening process for candidates. Candidates should update the professional head shot on their profile, fill in as many details about a employment history as possible and share relevant articles from other LinkedIn members. The whole point of being on LinkedIn is to get noticed in the right way so potential employers can find you and then hire you.

Unposted positions will gain popularity in 2015. Managers and human resources executives seek out viable people for positions without actually posting the job to a company website. That way, managers can vet candidates without worrying about internal strife, unnecessary brown nosing or people who may quit before the job is filled.

Keywords, and the computer programs that search for them, help recruiters track candidates online. This is one of the hiring trends that will be refined even more in 2015. Make sure your resume, cover letter, social media profiles and LinkedIn page all use keywords from a job posting so companies can find you more easily.

Companies rely on mobile applications to streamline and automate the hiring process. Hiring trends indicate more companies will have more apps on more mobile devices for potential employees in 2015. If you do not have a bunch of smartphone apps yet, now is time to learn how to use them.

Hiring trends for 2015 focus on technology and how to be found by recruiters. Simply embracing hiring technology is not enough. Job candidates must learn how to use tech to land that dream job in the coming year.

Brandon you have many errors in your comment relating to structure and spelling and homonym usage. "Due" is related to debt or deadline expectations an "Do" relates to actually doing something. Hope this helps!
