Essential Responsibilities
Supervise and lead all coaches and swim team assistants.
Provide the environment to improve team members’ stroke techniques. This is accomplished by actively assisting the swimmer and the coaches with in-water assistance to help enhance their swimming ability.
Develop swim coaches’ coaching techniques and abilities.
Maintain and promote activities pertaining to the swim team as well as The Briar Club swim program
Teach swim lessons as available and requested but not to interfere with the regular operation of the swim team.
Encourage and offer opportunities for children to participate in year round swimming.
Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of the Awards Banquet at the end of the season.
Promote swimming in a positive and fun learning environment for all ages
Provide assistance to the Aquatics Coordinator when needed.
Responsible for overall safety of all team members and assisting staff.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Current WSI and Life Guard Certifications
2-3 Years experience running a summer or USA swim team, including swim team staff.
USA Coaches Certification (preferred)
Availability to coach over 200 kids between the ages of 5-14 years old and ranging from beginner to novice swimmer.
Coach will also help managing assistant coaches and teaching additional swim clinics and lessons.
Must Know hy-tek software.
Swim team season starts April 1st through June 23rd. Practices are in the afternoon in April and May and morning practices and afternoon swim meets in June.
