Segment Marketing Analyst (Corp.)

Job Summary

The Segment Management Analyst participates in market research, and product/program management to assist in the development and execution of segment marketing strategies. 

This position is responsible for supporting a particular industry/customer segment by gathering information and performing analyses used to assess the performance of UPS’s products, services, customer segments, and value propositions. 

Other Duties 

  • Builds and runs queries to collect customer behavior and demographic information.
  • Identifies trends within targeted customer segments.
  • Compiles customer survey responses for future strategy inclusion.
  • Assesses the impact of new products and services versus existing products and services.
  • Creates customer and sales force materials to provide project and initiative support.
  • Establishes measurement processes and systems to capture program performance reports. 

Preferred Competencies 

  • Applies financial knowledge in order to read and interpret financial statements, develops business cases using financial information (e.g., cost, revenue forecasts, etc.) and plans and effectively manage budgets.
  • Applies information analysis by identifying key data sources, synthesizing data, and drawing conclusions based on logic and objectivity in order to generate solutions.
  • Applies communications and brand strategy knowledge to develop communication briefs supporting segment and product targeting and to identify opportunities to increase brand equity.
  • Applies knowledge of segmenting and targeting by using analytics to select and recommend target segments, identify their unique needs, and define appropriate value statements.
  • Applies problem definition and structure knowledge to describe problems, break them down into key issues, and identify solutions by testing hypotheses and identifying root causes.
  • Applies knowledge of the features and business applications of services, products and customer-facing technology offerings and solutions.
  • Conducts customer business process analysis and applies knowledge of how company solutions, such as order management, shipping and receiving, improve and benefit the customer’s processes.
  • Develops marketing objectives and strategies that guide corporate marketing activities and align resources to drive profitable growth.
  • Develops promotion programs, establishes demand generation objectives, and selects promotional tactics to achieve the objectives. Forecasts the financial impact of promotional plans and tactics.
  • Develops situational assessments through a comprehensive marketplace evaluation of customers, competitors, and market factors in order to identify implications, opportunities, and strategic issues.
  • Manages projects and programs including allocating people and resources, organizing logistics and implementation, monitoring progress, adapts plans, and identifies and resolves rollout issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
  • Must be currently in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself there.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Business/analytical experience post undergraduate degree is preferred.
