Quality Assurance Manager
My client in the Central Valley area is looking for a qualified Quality Assurance Supervisor to join their ITION SUMMARY: Is responsible for the leadership in and the development, implementation, and management of all Quality Assurance programs and activities in my clients manufacturing locations and as needed for my clients business units. Provides technical expertise and support to ensure compliance to SFDQS, regulatory requirements, product quality, and food safety. Utilizes tools such as auditing, process MARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Leads the development and the implementation of Division Quality System requirements at my clients manufacturing locations and business units. - Develops and implements SOPs, SSOPs, Plant Policies, HACCP, GMP, Pest Control, Documentation, Training, Traceability/Recall, Crises Management, Instrument Calibration, Positive Release, Allergen Control, Housekeeping, QMS, Organic Compliance, Statistical Process Control, Net Weight Content, Verifications and Validations, and other quality elements in the SFDQS. - Establish, monitor and maintain all appropriate quality programs and procedures, testing methodologies, and test equipment to assure compliance to specifications and federal, state and local regulations for all private label products. Coordinates resolution of Quality Management issues. This includes reporting on KPI's, corrective action plans, technical summaries, Management Review of Quality, held inventory disposition, etc. - Ensure that established systems / procedures / protocols are adequate to provide for consistent product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance. - Responsible for evaluation and resolution of customer / consumer product quality issues. - Routinely works with cross function groups such as R&D, Technical Services, Legal, Operations to establish and to achieve business objectives. (Examples: Technical problem solving, new products launches, changes to existing product). REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL: - Minimum BS / BA degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science / Food Technology or related fields. EXPERIENCE: - Minimum of 7 years in food manufacturing operations. Within this there must be 3-5 years of factory QA experience, preferably at a QA Manager level. - Knowledgeable in FDA, USDA, EPA, and GMP guidelines for food manufacturing facilities. SKILLS: - Must have strong knowledge and understanding of food safety / HACCP, GMP's, Allergen Controls, Sanitary design/controls, pest control, basic food regulations, specifications, and basic food technology. - Must be capable of working with minimal direct supervision and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills. - Strong demonstrated verbal / written communications, analytical and problem solving skills. - Must be detailed and results oriented. - Statistical analysis experience is preferred. - Must be proficient with tracerequirements and with conducting trace of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products. - SFDQS training or similar Food Safety and Quality Systems training by NFPA, Silliker, etc and implementation experience is strongly preferred. - PC proficiency in Windows-based applications: Word, Excel, Access (preferred).
