We are hiring for a Lead Cook Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Cooks and otherwise prepares foods according to recipes. * Cuts, trims, bones and carves meats and poultry for cooking, and prepares dishes. * Responsible for quality and consistency of product taste and presentation. * Insures all deadlines are met in food production based on production orders, prep lists and Chef's instructions. * Weighs and measures designated ingredients. * Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator. * Properly stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures. * Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils. * Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. * Assures compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe, safety, and production standards. * Assumes responsibility for kitchen in absence of Executive Chef, when assigned. * Ensures that all catering orders are fulfilled in timely fashion. LOCATION Salisbury, MD 21804 JOB REQUIREMENTS * We require that you be dependable in showing up for the start of your shift, and expect that you possess the ability and independence to manage your time and responsibilities to meet deadlines and get the food out on schedule. * The ability to focus is important to us, but also the flexibility to adapt to changing needs and unforeseen circumstances. * Excellent culinary skills are essential, but the willingness to receive feedback, offer input, follow direction and work in a team are very important. * We serve Lunch and Dinner six days a week, so the ability to handle high-volume cooking is necessary paired with the ability to multi task. HOURS PER WEEK: Full Time (40 hours) plus occasional overtime for special events Four Weekdays (approximately), plus Saturday This is most likely the starting schedule, but all staff schedules are determined by changing needs in the unit, and we will be looking for flexibility.
