Clinical Research Supervisor-REDI
Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is San Francisco East Bay's largest private, not-for-profit medical center with a total of 1,082 licensed beds. Under the direction of the Director of REDI and in close collaboration with physician investigators, the Research Supervisor (RS) will take a lead role in development of clinical research operations. The RS works closely with Staff Nurses, Administrative Coordinators and the Director of REDI to oversee and ensure the highest standards in the implementation of clinical study protocols. The RS works collaboratively with research staff, industry sponsors and physician investigators to ensure smooth and efficient conduct of clinical trials at the medical center. This individual will serve as a leader for clinical research operations personnel and will assist in the planning, direction and operation of clinical research studies.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelors Degree required (or applicable experience in lieu of) required, Masters preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience coordinating and managing all aspects of clinical research trials; supervisory experience preferred. Experience in working with Medical Staff. Experience in working with research patients strongly preferred. Proficient in financial management. Ability to enhance efficiency thru focus on continuous process improvement. Must have excellent analytical skills. Detailed oriented and meticulous. Highly organized. Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills. Ability to manage and develop a team of high performers. Enthusiastic and flexible. Creative and innovative. Knowledge: Knowledge necessary to maintain operations in compliance with external guidelines, statutory and accreditation parameters including JCAHO, FDA and other laws & regulations. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Knowledge of general medical procedures and medical terminology as it applies to processes and procedures. License, certification, and/or registration requirements: Current certification or meets requirements to be certified as Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) or Clinical Research Administrator (CRA). Valid driver's license (this position may require travel within the greater East Bay Area); The incumbent must have own car with current motor vehicle insurance and registration. Special Skills and/or Equipment Used: Basic computer knowledge and proficiency.
