We currently have two openings for Nurse Educators at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.

The Clinical Practice Specialists at ABSMC possesses advanced knowledge of federal and state regulations, Health & Safety Codes and community standards. These positions contribute to the development of system-wide practice standardization to support the interdisciplinary delivery of consistent clinical care and documentation of that care. The Clinical Practice Specialist uses clinical and critical thinking skills when participating in development and implementation of clinical education and practice standards. He/she acts as a liaison with other departments, units and designated medical committees.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. BSN required; Master's Degree preferred
• 3 - 5 years of progressive nursing experience in acute care and education and regulatory activities
• Current California Registered Nurse License and BLS Certification
• Experience in development and implementation of policies and procedures on an organizational level using evidence based practice
• Familiarity with critical thinking and teaching methods
• Must be proficient in windows applications: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Understanding and management of challenging, complex and rapidly changing situations
• Excellent writing, planning, computer and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional presentation skills
• Ability to work in a self-motivated, independent capacity is essential  
• Ability to effectively present ideas at the administrative level
