Overview:
The Business Process Manager (BPM) serves as a subject matter expert in supporting the development of new merchandising strategies, processes and systems.
Key Accountabilities:
Own the development of cohesive merchandising processes (financial, assortment, allocation planning among others).
Collaborate with merchant and planning teams to map current state and build future state processes for all families of business.
Provide deep subject matter expertise driven input into the design of the future business process.
Conduct workshops to gather & prioritize high level business system requirements.
Partner with the Analytics team to define and capture key process performance metrics to measure and control key process objectives.
Identify and evaluate appropriate tools and technologies to automate business. processes, conduct fit gap analysis and cost benefit analysis for solution alternatives
Partner with Technology to configure/build or customize a solution to fit the newly developed process.
Provide application testing support.
Assist in development and training of merchant/planner teams with a goal of change and process adoption.
Provide post-implementation support, including actual ""in-field"" use of the process and application and the prioritization of enhancements.
Skills Summary:
College Degree or equivalent work experience. MBA a plus.
5 years of corporate or applicable experience.
Solid understanding of business process analysis techniques, process metrics and performance measurement.
Experience in working with tools/technologies required to facilitate process modeling and documentation.
Ability to translate & communicate complex and abstract issues so they can be easily understood.
Prior experience working with IT to build solutions for planning and forecasting needs, familiar with retail performance management technology product suite.
Strong consensus builder, collaborator and negotiator.
Strong multitasking ability, ability to prioritize and adjust to changing priorities.
Strong presentation and communication skills, confidence in interacting with senior executives.
Self-starter who can learn new concepts quickly, ability to build credibility and trust with merchants/planners.
Retail merchandising or planning background highly preferable.
Consulting background a plus.
Six Sigma green belt a plus.
