Position Description:
THE WOODMARK HOTEL

The Woodmark Hotel is the only hotel on the picturesque shores of Lake Washington, located just fifteen minutes east of Seattle and minutes from the high-tech corridor of Redmond, Bellevue and Bothell. Unsurpassed views of the magnificent Olympic Mountains and Seattle skyline are seen from this ?In-Town? lakeside retreat, within the landmark community of Carillon Point in Kirkland, Washington. The Woodmark Hotel is an integral part of Carillon Point?s exclusive 31-acre waterfront community offering a variety of specialty shops, restaurants, scenic marina and the full-service spa.

Dining
The Woodmark Hotel features two restaurants, bin on the lake and Beach Cafe, each offering its own distinctive dining experience. bin on the lake is a lively, energetic and welcoming wine bar and restaurant, featuring 80 wines by the glass in 1, 3 & 6 oz. pours. Chef Brian Cooper seasonal new American fare offers a simple, clean and delicious food and wine pairing experience. Beach Cafe is a casual, fun and friendly, restaurant and bar; serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch with twice daily happy hours.

Meeting and Banquet Facilities
An ideal location for retreats, special events and business meetings, The Woodmark Hotel features seven rooms totaling 6,350 square feet available to accommodate anywhere from five to 300 people. In addition, the hotel?s facilities include newly refurbished, flexible event space that offers three separate and distinct function areas, which can also be combine to be used as a whole. A seasonal outdoor terrace of 1,800 square feet accommodates up to 180 people. All space affords direct lakeside terrace access and on-site meeting and catering specialists.

Spa Services
The Northwest Spa at the Woodmark offers a full menu of traditional spa services, such as facials, massage, body treatments, manicures and pedicures, along with state-of-the-art Aluma skin tightening, specialty peels to suit any skin type, particle-free dermabrasion, laser hair removal and facial waxing, as well as rejuvenating medical treatments, such as cosmetic fillers. The Northwest Face Spa?s amenities include nine treatment rooms, including two couples treatment rooms, a multi-jetted rain shower, dry sauna, a semi-private eight-person manicure/pedicure bar, and a unique array of retail offerings.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Host/ess is responsible for greeting and proper seating of guests as they enter the restaurant. S/he will be responsible for creating an excellent first impression as well as ensuring timely and appropriate seating of guests. The Host/ess will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
? Plans and coordinates timely seating of guests
? Greets incoming guests
? Takes reservations in person and over the phone, using professional language at all times
? Responsible for hanging guests coats, purses, etc.
? Cleans and resets tables as needed
? Provides guests with high chairs, booster seats, etc.
? Ensures guests are comfortable and welcome if required to wait
? Maintains cleanliness of podium areas
? Answers restaurant telephone, responding to guests? questions in a professional manner
? Escorts every guest to table, hands out menus and ensures table(s) are properly set up
? Maximizes the seating of the restaurant
? Attends mandatory monthly department meetings appropriate resort and division meetings
? Assists servers, bussers with refilling beverages and/or clearing tables
? Schedules dining room reservations
? Notifies servers of guests? special requests, events, etc.
? Completes all assigned side-work, obtaining manager?s signature when complete
? Informs server of any potential guest issues
? Familiarizes him/herself with menu
? Answers questions and/or makes recommendations on menus as needed
? Assists servers with monitoring assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality and additional service
? Provides general hotel information for guests
? Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Woodmark Hotel/Beach Café including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
? Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all hotel amenities as well as any special events
? Interacts with hotel staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
? Up sells other hotel services and amenities to guests
? Addresses any guest issue promptly and with concern
? Offers guests assistance hotel directions, activity suggestions, etc.
? Provides assistance to restaurant staff as needed
? Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
? Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
? Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Woodmark Hotel dress code standards.
? Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
? Performs other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIRMENTS:
? Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
? Must be able to read, write and speak English
? Must be at least 18 years of age
? Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
? Must possesses excellent communication skills
? Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
? Must always ensure a teamwork environment
? Must be able to work under pressure
? Must have strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
? Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
? Must have excellent listening skills
? Must have or be able to obtain prior to start date a valid Washington Food Handler?s permit
? Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
? Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
? Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
? Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests

WORKING CONDITIONS:
? Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day,
? Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis;
? Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height,
? Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently;
? Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally
