Job Description: The Westin San Francisco Market Street Hotel is now looking for vibrant guest-focused professionals to join our team at Highgate's world-class premiere location. The Westin Market Street Hotel is a luxurious 676 room hotel located in the Financial District adjacent to Yerba Buena Gardens and the Moscone Center. Be inspired to be your best. Be Westin. We are now seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager for Ducca, our dynamic fine dining restaurant situated inside The Westin Market Street Hotel. This position will also assist in the management of the room service department. Previous hotel restaurant management experience (for a property of similar size and scope as The Westin Market Street Hotel) preferred. JOB OVERVIEW: The successful candidate will be a leader on the dining room floor and in the back of the house. Will be responsible for overseeing all restaurant and room service functions in accordance to our standards and procedures. Our new manager will effectively ensure profitability of the restaurant, train and develop staff members, promote a team environment, and provide our guests a wonderful dining experience. We offer a competitive salary and benefit package. Job Requirements: * 1 year experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager/Supervisor, in a fine dining restaurant. Previous hotel restaurant management experience for a property of similar size and scope as The Westin Market Street Hotel preferred. * Knowledge of various food service styles (i.e. French service, Russian service, tableside flamb service, butler style service). * Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls. * High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate, some college. * Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally. * Provide legible communication and directions. * Excellent computer skills. * Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. Ability to: * enforce Hotel standards, policies and procedures with Restaurant staff. * prioritize and organize work assignments, delegate work. * direct performance of Restaurant staff and follow up with corrections where needed. * motivate Restaurant staff and maintain a cohesive team. * ascertain Restaurant training needs and provide such training. * be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement. * suggestively sell menu items, beverages and wines. * input and access information into P.O.S. system. * work without direct supervision.
