Environmental Technician – Water Resource Seasonal Job Summary: Inspect construction sites, grow native plants for rain gardens and assist the Hydrologist in plan development. Job Responsibilities: * Performs one or more of the following duties: * Develop GIS figures, action items, best management practices and budgets. * Inspect construction sites. * Work with horticultural staff in the green house. Specifically will: * Assist water resource staff with the following tasks (60% time): * Complete development of Watershed Based Plan * Complete development of Rain Garden Workbook * Update Non Point Source Assessment Report and Management Plan * Work with horticultural staff in the green house growing, transplanting and watering plants for use in rain gardens, green roofs and infiltration areas. (25% time) * Inspect erosion control best management practices at construction sites (15% time) Job Requirements: * Valid driver’s license may be required with a good driving record. * Strong writing skills * Competent with Microsoft Office programs * Familiarity with GIS Preferred: * Education or degree in Natural Resources * Related experience
