Overview
Responsible for leading existing supplier/manufacturing relationships and identifying new suppliers to support Jamba Juice Company continued growth, with a specific focus on the domestic business to ensure that Jamba remains a leader within QSR industry both in ensuring excellent product quality while maintaining our competitive edge in terms of food costs. Responsible for leading the effort to monitor supplier/manufacture quality programs to ensure compliance from a QA and a financial perspective. Responsible for forecasting usage and costing models, as well supplier/distributor auditing to ensure contract compliance. Responsibilities
* Responsible for leading forecasting and contract negotiation of all raw materials, as well as finished goods for food items, including IQF Fruits, Juice concentrates. * Oversees sourcing and purchasing managers responsible for co-packing relationships, snacks, boosts, and other misc. smoothie related ingredients, as well as non-food items including uniforms, merchandise, packaging. * Supervise three Sourcing Managers and a total of seven Supply Chain professionals. * Responsible for contracting calendar and preparing request for proposals, financial analysis and recommendations for contract awards to SVP of Supply Chain. * Partner with R&D in the development of new products and in coordinating the commercialization and implementation into distribution. * Responsible for negotiation and management of vendor contracts, as well as communication and problem resolution with distributors and vendors. * Assisting R & D / QA with resolution of quality product issues throughout the supply chain. * Work closely with Operations and R & D to identify cost saving opportunities through alternative product sourcing and services. * Responsible for overseeing accuracy of all regional cost of goods models and commodity updates by Contract Compliance Coordinator, as well as ongoing auditing/reconciliation of actual costs versus forecasted costs. * Oversees all vendors/co-packing to ensure that Jamba files are updated with current AIB/ASI score sheets, insurance certificates, follow up to corrective action on QA issues. Qualifications
* Eight to ten years procurement/supply chain experience within the restaurant/manufacturing industry. * Must have proven negotiation and problem resolution skills; a “people” person with a positive attitude focused on win/win solutions. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. * Must be proficient at financial analysis within Excel and Microsoft Word. * College Degree required * Familiarization with freight forwarding/logistics both domestically and internationally. * IT experiences a plus as we move to automate supply chain process. * Results oriented self-starter with high energy level. * Professional, mature individual who possesses strict ethical standards. * Ability to think strategically and execute /problem solve tactical issues. * Intelligent problem solver who can successfully apply experience, judgment and creativity * Proven negotiation skills both in terms of problem resolution, as well as contractual situations. * Teamwork/Collaboration (effectively working within and outside the formal lines of authority). * Communication (present ideas effectively, actively listens and works across functional boundaries). * Tolerance for Stress (maintain stable performance under pressure: works against tight time lines). * Empoerment (ability to get things done through others)
